On Monday evening, October 13, 1997, my wife Anne complained about an ache in her lower back. Later that evening, she started to get contractions. This is what happened next:
| 10:30 pm |
I called the midwife, who told me that everything was alright. |
| 12:50 am |
The contractions were coming quickly and lasting long. I called the midwife again. |
| 1:00 am |
The midwife arrived. |
| 1:06 am |
Katie arrived |
| 1:08 am |
The paramedics arrived and took Katie to the local hospital |
| 2:30 am |
Katie was transferred to the NICU in Utrecht. |
The first few days, we went through the gammut of emotions, as one can imagine. The following is a daily diary of how she has progressed and is progressing.
I have included a glossary of the terms and abbreviations I have used. Click on the term or abbreviation to get a definition, or click on the Glossary button above to see the complete list.
